He won't get convicted. Did he dope? Of course. Did Postal use sponsor money for dope? Most likely. Did LA lie to prosecutors, the FBI, and all those women he banged who looked like his mom? Absolutely. Are there witnesses to support the case against LA? You could fill a stadium. However, like Dominique Strauss-Kahn, nearly everyone with that much money and power who is accused of a crime has enough money to get off. OJ did and they had him BY THE BALLS (and he had two). LA will skate, too. Why you, Laff, and Anton don't see this is hard to understand. Perhaps you guys actually believe all that stuff you learned in civics class. |

I sort of agree with you, except that your last sentence misses the point: the reason those guys are acquitted and probably will have their charges dropped, is a basic civics lesson which should be taught in every class, the American criminal justice system is designed to help the defendant. The OJ case changed the way prosecutors handle their cases, instead of long-winded presentations, they keep it short and understandable, I saw it for myself at the Peterson trial. The DSK case should also change how prosecutors handle foreign dignitaries with very busy schedules by not rushing with the severest possible charges. Hopefully, the Armstrong case will also have repercussions, namely, not to waste time trying to nail someone who at the worst, cheated at a meaningless game. -ilan |

True. I'd also add the caveat that the richer and more powerful the defendant, the more they can leverage the imbalances in the system. That's why I think a guy with the resources that LA has stands a good chance of walking away scot-free. |

How are Lance's lawyers gonna make Hincapie look like a liar - dude never even tested positive for anything why would he just make that **** up? Magilla |

Dude - Lance is goin to the Bighouse. Magilla IMO, every single one of the cases you list has far more physical evidence and far more significance than the LA case. LA may be a big name, but the case against him is lame. Best hope they have is on convicting him of lying to investigators, which still will be difficult. Time will tell. If they nail him, hey, great. But it won't have any impact on doping in cycling. |
