something about language
You know all of bruno's post have had me thinking about the words we
use, and how others may interpret what we say. Now I am not going on the CoD on my sheet, but there are lots of folks here how it works. From one-zero's to CCT's and maybe even a FAC. I am sure there are some here that still know what it is like to work from a FOB. You work hard, you keep your head down, and your mouth shut and if you live long enough you work with them all. Hell I am not that old (yet), and even I had to hot bunk and rack gear with a couple of bright lighters(but they are all pretty much C&C) but I was lucky... working for Lost and (never) Found. I am sure there are those who remember toe poppers and nightingales (like a bag full of m-80's on holloween) ... for me it was more mixed gas and MarkV's, Mark 12's, and trying not to do the Ph burp on a cc unit. Days and days of getting wet, some hard hatting some free. Now I just sit back and watch the tracers behind my house ... no **** they test the average burn times for that **** just over a ridge behind my place ... every night is like a quiet 41h of July. Anyway I need work on the EBB and get the 55'r SS up for a easy cruise of the new NMORS course east of town. R and even a little bicycle content. |
