oh, and don't race on the public highway. What a waste of a life, and I'll
bet the car was damaged too, wonder if the cyclist was insured?

Should not have been racing on the public highway; what do people
expect?

This cyclist seems to have been wearing a helmet. He died of internal
injuries to the body and not head injuries: A quote from the newspaper
article:

"He collided with a Renault Clio, which was stationary because its
driver had stopped when the exhaust fell off. He died of a ‘massive
haemorrhage due to transection of the aorta and a fractured spine’.

Mr Tindley’s computer revealed he had travelled at an average speed of
21.8mph and a maximum of 33mph during the trial."

Not bad for a 76 year old.
