Several manufacturers here in Melbourne: Greenspeed www.greenspeed.com.au MR Components www.mrrecumbenttrikes.com TriSled www.trisled.com.au Don't know of any in Sydney, but Flying Furniture is in Canberra and sells most of these trikes and others http://www.flyingfurniture.com.au/trikes.html Cheers Peter |

I would think that Cheeky Monkey near Central would be the specialists
in finding the unusual when it comes to cycling. Another place you could try is disability support suppliers. Trikes are often used as exercise/transport options for people with inner ear disorders affecting their their balance. Are you looking to buy a recumbant (lie down) or an upright (like a diamond-frame only with 3 wheels) trike? Cheeky Monkey have apparently sold upright trikes designed to carry stuff before. They also do good things finding unusual bikes. While you're at Cheeky Monkey you *ought* to buy back issues of Velovision which details (and compares) many unusual bike designs. If disability is a reason for buying a trike, check out their special needs cycling reviews in the latest issue. (The special needs section is also posted online) For recumbant trikes, see the other Australians suggested in this thread, read Velovision, and also check out Human Powered Vehicles type websites, there was an Australian newsletter for HPV enthusiasts going around. If you want a trike for serious cargo haulage, then check out the various trike-truck options from overseas. They get rather expensive though. yours, Sam R. |

My 63 year old Mum has recently gotten herself one of these, as she has pretty bad osteoporosis and 3 wheels may be better stability wise than two. She loves it (even puts her fox terrier in the basket), and probably hasn't ridden a bike for about 20 years. The company is in brisbane (she's in Ballina- nice flat place for a trike), so you'd have to probably email them to find out where they stock them in Sydney. I think she paid around $600. Cheers, Sean |
