Saiguan Freewheel?
I have a NIB pair of Saiguan 7 speed 13-28 freewheels-made in China stamps-that came with a pair of electric motor hubs. The freewheel splines match Shimano freewheel splines. Anyone familiar with these freewheels? Any good? -- meb |

Anyone familiar with these freewheels? Any good? I have seen the following varieties of recently made freewheels: Shimano freewheels, which are all of fine quality, SunRace freewheels, which also seem to be of good quality, Falcon freewheels, which look more crudely made than the above, and "two nonsense syllables" Chinese freewheels that never look any better than the Falcon kind. I bought some new 6-speed Chinese freewheels as surplus from a hubmotor vendor, simply because they cost all of three bucks each. I haven't used them yet, but they seem, well...really cheap. They might work fine, but if they don't, it won't be a big problem or a big disappointment. I expect that the ultra-low cost of such freewheels comes along with substantial sacrifices in material quality, which would lead in due course to lower durability. Chalo Colina |
