Default Shimano Hose for Hayes Brake

Hi,
I've heard that it is possible to use Shimano hydraulic hose on a
Hayes HFX Nine brake?
Is it true? Are there any cons of this?

If yes, which shimano hose is it (SMBH59 ?) ?

BR,
