Default Cyclist gets £100k compo jackpot

QUOTE:
"A cyclist forced to quit his job after suffering serious injuries in a road accident has received a £100,000 payout - and is now set to marry the love of his life.

Dad-of-four Heath Marshall, 48, was forced to quit mechanics after being hit by a motorbike in Lea Marston, Sutton Coldfield.

He fractured his skull in the horror smash and also suffered serious leg injuries.

But after the out-of-court settlement he now plans to marry sweetheart Marie Brant, 38, and move with their two children into a new home after spending the last three years in a caravan."

Interesting that you regard it as a 'jackpot'. That implies a prize,
rather than compensation for lasting injuries.

Indeed.

For the avoidance of doubt, is there anyone here who would choose to
suffer the effects of the quoted injuries in exchange for a tax-free
lump sum of £100,000?

1. Not me.
2.

Good job that the motorcyclist was insured.

As motorcyclists are just 1% of traffic, but 20% of roadkill - it was a good job that he survived the crash at all.

I think that the real prize is the love of Marie Brant.

But not one awarded by the court.

I'd rather just be uninjured.

Wouldn't you?

That may well depend on Ms Brant.

I would gladly suffer a few injuries for my fair lady.

I think there may be a couple of people here, to whom money is everything -
they would consider such a thing as the "jackpot" and all worthwhile.

2. Me neither.
