TDI glow plugs are not energized to start above 40F. They are on with the
engine running and the 'cold' alarm and rpm 2500.

Yep, as long as it's warm or the glow plugs have been on, mine starts
with no delay at all.

Well, R15757, I did write that they are a good **temporary** solution. The
current problem is supposed to be with greenhouse gases. I doubt it is
possible to find a truly good permanent energy solution using fossil fuels.
