Bike Carrier for truck
I've got (2) pickup trucks. One has a standard 2" square female
towing hitch, and the other has a 2" bumper mounted ball for towing. My bike carrier is built for the 2" square hitch. Its male shank fits right into the 2"x2" square towing 'receptacle', just like any boat trailer would. It works pretty slick My question is this..... I'd like to be able to use the bike carrier on either truck. So, what I need is some type of converter that can be attached to (or replace) the 2" ball on my older truck that will somehow accept the square shank of the bike carrier. The truck has quite a few miles on it, and I don't want to buy and install a 2" hitch frame. If I can't find something on the market, I'll probably weld up some creation of my own..... but I wanted to check to see if someone has ever run across something like this before (a ball to hitch converter). I'm not looking for anything pricey.... just something simple and inexpensive. Either email or post is fine.... email is preferred. Thanks for the advice...... Mac |

Can't beat that for a rack. I also had a spot for a 2x4 in the bed liner that was designed for stacking lumber or some such. I never got around to adding some padeyes for cable locks. a. |
