Default Cyclist suffers cuts to head and body after being attacked with axe -man in custody

QUOTE:
A man has been charged after a cyclist was attacked with an axe.

The victim, who was one of three men riding bikes on a path near Bestwood Lodge Drive, Arnold, suffered cuts to his head and body. He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre after the incident on Friday, May 29.

Graham Timlick, 67, was arrested at a property in Cairngorm Drive on Thursday, June 11.

Timlick has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, affray, criminal damage and possessing an offensive weapon.

He was also charged with affray and possession of a ***bladed article*** (EMPHASIS MINE) in relation to an alleged incident in August last year.

He has been remanded in police custody and will appear before magistrates on Friday, June 12. Detective Sergeant David Prest, leading the investigation, said: "This was an incredibly scary experience for the victim and I am pleased that we have been able to make a charge not only in this case, but also in relation to another unresolved matter."

Anyone with information that may help is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 856 of May 29
