That's where Stafford and Penkridge are, isn't it?

A hit and run?
Shockingly common, I'm afraid, despite "failing to stop" being a serious offence.

Serious offence? Do you mean minor offence? A person killed in an accident
is a serious offence.

A man just got jailed for 8 months and one of his offences was just that.

QUOTE:
He was charged with careless driving, failing to stop following a collision, and perverting the course of justice.

He was today sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment and given a 16-month driving ban.
ENDS

8 months in pokey seems serious to me.

That doesn't prove your claim that "failing to stop is a serious offence".

Failing to stop is not the most serious of his offences.
