Bank robber sought by Sheriff's Office
POSTED: March 14, 2010

Lee County deputies are searching for the man who robbed a North Fort
Myers bank and made his getaway on a bicycle.

Deputies were called to the Sun Trust Bank at 13901 North Cleveland
Avenue at 2:49 pm on March 12. Witnesses say a white male handed the
teller a note demanding money. The suspect was given an undisclosed
amount of cash and fled the bank on a mountain bike, travelling in a
westward direction. No weapon was displayed during the robbery and no
injuries were reported, investigators said.

If you know anything about this bank robbery, you're asked to call the
Lee County Sheriff's Office at 477-1000. Or to remain anonymous, and
be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000, you can call Southwest
Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.

Nice article mikey. I might remind
you that there aren't any mountains
in Florida so how could this
despicable criminal possibly be
a "mountain biker" as you describe
him.

As you well know, mountain biking has NOTHING to do with mountains. It
refers to riding a bike in natural areas. But if you were ever to
actually tell the truth, it would be a real shocker....

No, mountain biking has EVERYTHING to do with mountains.
Where else do you get the THRILL of going downhill at
insane speeds with only a few metal tubes and some rubber
between you and the natural area. In the flat lands of
Florida riding a mountain bike is an affectation. A fat
tired beach bike is the proper tool for riding over the
alligators. And I thought your battle was with mountain
bikers, but no, it's about all bikers. I wonder who,
on some bike somewhere, made your life miserable. That
person or people should be taken to task rather than brand
a whole population as evil. That will only come back and
haunt you.

Mountain bikers are the exact same selfish, destructive idiots,
wherever they happen to live. But you already knew that, and are just
pretending to be ignorant.

Impossibly broad, pejorative, attacking statements
such as this do not advance your cause. regardless
of the merits of your cause, one single bit. In fact
statements such as these serve only to harden
people's attitudes toward you personally and your
cause in general.

So you agree with what I said.

1) That your statement is so overly broad that it cannot
possibly be true.

2) Since 1) is true, your statement cannot possibly
further your cause regardless of how "righteous" it is.

3) That statements you make of this sort and in this way
are in fact contrary to your cause and will influence people
to see your cause as nonsense and be driven away from it.

Well if you agree with all of that, why don't you
alter your approach?

Believe it or not, I'm kind of on your side here. I
firmly believe that all 'wilderness' should be free of
wheeled traffic of any kind and I further believe that
much of that should even have limited foot traffic.
