Most still use tubulars. Partly because of the high incidence of
zillion dollar carbon wheels, which are mostly tubular. There are
carbon clinchers but weight savings are not what the tubulars are.

Go over to the Cycling News website http://www.cyclingnews.com/ and
go to the Tech section http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech/ and look at
the Pro bikes reviews. They are the various bikes the pros use.
Tires are listed. Some clinchers, some tubulars.

And many tyres wearing labels related only to the prevailing
sponsorship deal, and nothing to do with the actual origin of the
tyre.

As with concurrent voluminous discussions here, each team and/or rider
makes equipment decisions based on a host of factors (some real, some
exaggerated, some fanciful and some occasionally disastrous).

Short answer: Most but by no means all clinchers.

Did you really mean "clinchers" in your statement? If I had to guess,
I'd say most tubulars, but not all tubulars. Some clinchers too.

Typically, Le Cycle publishes this information for all Pro Tour and
Continental teams in its February issue, along with particular notes about
tires used and those which are sponsored. (Saddles, you might easily guess,
are very personal.) I won't have a chance to get this info to the forum,
but perhaps someone at home could.

Incidentally, the large majority of last year's teams used tubulars - around
65% - even when the tire sponsor is not known to produce them.
