Tell you what Frank - move to Australia where the laws so obviously agree with your idfiology.

:-) If I were to move to another country, I'd probably move to tropical
Canada. I like their "idfiology", and Canada's a lot closer than Australia.

Hand grenades aren't illegal because they're hand grenades but because they are a form of bomb. Fully automatic weapons aren't illegal in most states because they are fully automatic but because they would put weapons in the hands of people that could outgun the police forces.

Wait - you mean there are laws like that? And they pretty much work?
Wow, what a revelation!

Now, how can we use that insight regarding other guns? Might there be
another country whose "idfiology" we can copy?

There are indeed such laws. And if we just had better
'sensible regulation' of explosives, the Tsarnayev brothers
would still rig up a pressure cooker. Or the erstwhile
klutzy almost-murderer-of-infidels in Chelsea:

lest you think this is a new trend:

which was illegal then, too.

It never amazes me when you stood to using typos in your postings. But by all means tell us about hand grenades when you don't know what they are nor why they are outlawed.

Frank apparently was a teacher. Whether he taught mechanical engineering or not remains in limbo since he doesn't act as if he knows any practical mechanical engineering, meaning he probably achieved a degree and never used it. That's not unusual since 80% of graduates never work in their fields of study. But you would expect if he had a technical education he would know how easy it is to make or modify guns or make bombs using common chemicals that are untraceable.

Yes, there are occasional homicides by bomb. In the U.S., there are
perhaps 40 per year, on average. How does that compare to the number for
guns?

Sane people realize that no laws generate perfect compliance. It's silly
to cite one or two anomalous incidents as proof that a law is worthless.

As mentioned before, I can probably find two or three incidents of bike
shops getting burglarized. That doesn't mean that laws against
burglarizing bike shops are worthless. It certainly doesn't mean we
should make such burglaries legal.

That again was a typo. I meant stooped but in your case stuped.
