There are no such tires today.

Yeah, no such tires today. Not silk. Five grams heavier:

Kissena, e.g. Watch for the potholes. (It's been a long time since I rode
there.)

It's a track made out of crud agglomerated together with Portland
cement. It's a lot nicer than a plain crud track; you should try it
sometime.

That is concrete - an aggregate matrix in a cementitious binder; either
Portland cement, asphalt cement (or very rarely these days, tar). Of
course, concrete is a composite material.

"jim" is being hypocritical here, since he/she/they/it complains when
others misuse technical terms.

Yeah, but they ride 700x28 clinchers there.

Don't expect people in the bicycle business to distinguish between
"cement" and "concrete", especially when translated from German.
However, the whole article is BS because traction on tracks is not a
concern, while low RR is. That is why tracks are banked. It is not a
cornering exercise.

The whole article is BS? Is the weight BS? What about the image - is
that faked?

Yeah, for sure there are no tires like those 180gm silks you talked
about. Just BS nowadays.

I can only imagine your reaction is a tire ad written in the last ten
years talked about the "singing" sound a tire made while in use on a
track.. You'd mock it to no end.
