Default Trek 2300 Years 1999 - 2003

I need info on the specs and changes in the subject model years. Drive
train, components, frame geometry, frame composition, wheels, etc. I
am particularly interested in the differences in the model years.
Trek was unable (or unwilling) to provide this info for 1999-2002
years. I appreciate all input. Thanks a bunch.

I bought a 1998 TREK 2300 in year 2000. I considered buying a 2000 mode
when I got my 1998. Let's see, the TREK 2300 has always been a 100
ultegra bicycle with an ICON carbon fork in 1998, and TREK carbon for
in later years. In 1999-2002, it was alpha aluminum, in 2003, it becam
100% ZR9000 Aluminum, substantially lighter

In 1999, I believe it had the same generic wheels as my 2300, e.g
Shimano Ultegra hubs with Mavic CXP22 rims. Starting in 2000, it ha
bontrager low-spoke exotic wheels. Stem is ICON. Headset on mine was
Tange. Otherwise, the Ultegra gruppo was complete. Seat was TREK / Sell
San Marco or Bontrager (Trek house brand atop probably selle san marco)
Handlebars are ICON. That covers about 90% of the components. The bik
didn't change much from 2000-2002. The alpha aluminum frameset, with it
triangular downtube, sure was ugly, though
