After all, whatever happens to be in their way, no matter whether it's a pedestrian on a zebra or pelicon, a bus at a bus stop, a taxi picking up or dropping off punters, a van delivering to shops, a car stopped at red lights, another cyclist proceeding across a junction at 90 degrees on a green light or a brick wall on the dead end of a T-junction - has absolutely no right to be there, does it? The amber phase was too short, they were only doing 10%+2mph over the limit, they saw an unlit cyclist wearing dark clothing 200 miles away and had to take evasive action. I think you mean 10%+2mph + 10%+2mph + 10mph for being an above average driver. |

Mandating all cars are painted fluorescent pink would be a good start. Are cyclists all colour-blind, then? And don't they hit brick walls just as often as cars, as well as buses, bin-lorries, lamp-posts, refuse skips, railings, barbed-wire fences and... er... people? |

Reminds of the driver that got let off because an expert witness said that a 5 second delay was acceptable for a driver. And the cyclist that went to jail because the expert thought he could have stopped in 3.8 seconds. |
