Default FS: 2006 Trek T2000 Tandem (Orlando Area)

If you know tandems, you know this bike. It is an absolute top-of-the-line
tandem. It is an aluminum frame, with a carbon fiber fork and outstanding
components. It even includes Race Lite wheels. It's light and fast and
handles amazingly well. You will love this tandem
The tandem is less than a month old and in perfect condition. It also
includes the Astral Cateye 8 computer, with cadence, a rear-view mirror, and
the additional brake levers 'up top' (which I love).

Here's the story. My wife and I are serious tandem riders -- over 6,000
miles this year. We decided to upgrade from our Cannnondale to this Trek.
Here's the challenge. My wife is small - 5'0' and disabled. I'm tall, 6'2".
The Cannondale comes in a size for us -- Extra Large/Small. We thought that
the Medium Trek would be close enough. As much as we like this bicycle, it
wasn't close enough. For someone that wasn't disabled, I think it would be,
but that little bit of size difference made it hard for her to get on and
off and she never found the right comfort zone. So, we're back to
Cannondale, riding much, much slower. We tried, as shown by the almost 600
miles we rode it in under two weeks.

This bike new is $3,299, plus the accessories and tax brings it over $3,500.

You can steal it for $2,800 Here's the specs:

Frame ZR 9000 Alloy

Fork Bontrager Satellite Plus Carbon Tandem

Wheels Bontrager Race Lite Tandem

Crank Shimano Ultegra 52/42/30

Rear Derailleur Shimano Deore XT

I have a Bob Jackson and am thinking of newer more touring style. What
does the Trek weigh ?

With accessories (rack on the back, computer, water bottle rack, extra brake
levers), it came in right at 35 pounds -- 6 pounds lighter than our aluminum
Cannondale.
