Default Slam-door trains still in use at Brighton

Went to Brighton over the weekend. There were quite a few old slam-door
type trains still being used for local services to/from Brighton. These
were all in the old white and yellow South Central livery. So there was
really no excuse for the traincos refusing to carry cycles back from
the London to Brighton cycle run in July.

I think that when the 2005 ride was planned they were supposed to have
withdrawn all the slammers by this June (not July) so BHF had to make
contigency plans. They will all be gone next year; SWT have got shot of
all theirs. No reason why they can't use the old Royal Mail 325 units
for bikes and Electrostars for riders though, apart from the 3 major
deciduous forests of paperwork ;-(
