Another one of those "prove you are innocent!" allegations. I thought
people were innocent until proven guilty... Pat in TX No, that was in the old days. All the prisoners in the Guantanamo Camp have to prove they are not guilty of terrorism to get out. And though it might not be fair in every individuel case, this new imperial law seems to work better in general, since less criminals escape justice. ;-( Ivar in EU Er, Ivar, those people in Guantanamo weren't just going about their normal business when they were picked up. IIRC, they were shooting at American soldiers, so that sort of implies some guilt! Have you forgotten that those people aren't "criminals" but were fighting a war--but not dressed in the uniform of any army? Pat in TX |

wrote in part: I'd be more confidant of the motivation if there was proof of this deposit into an escrow account. The article said the payout was being withheld. The same article also said the money had been deposited in an account but not yet released to Armstrong. I'm much more cynical about the accuracy of published news reports than most but I have to wonder- if you accept without further proof the accuracy of the report that the payout is being withheld then why do you demand further proof of an escrow account and what form of "proof" do you envision? I'm fairly certain they won't be publishing any copies of deposit receipts. g Regards, Bob Hunt |
