Yes, let us know what they said about you overtaking the stopped blue car, shooting to the left in front of his bonnet and crossing the stop line. |

Good, I hope they fine you for stopping in a yellow box junction. The motorists were doing nothing wrong, one pulled in a little sharply, but the road looks narrow, and it is no more of a bad manoeuvre than you did at the traffic lights, cutting across 2 cars - you would have really been in **** street if the lights had turned green then. -- To reply by e-mail, change the ' + ' to 'plus'. |

Tim Hollis CBE QPM Police Headquarters Priory Road Hull HU5 5SF Dear Chief Constable I wish to make a formal complaint regarding a cyclist : Mr Simon Mason of Tranby Lane, Anlaby who I understand has a meeting with one of your officers on Friday 11 May 2012 at 11:00. Mr Mason is a persistent law breaker himself; he films other road users on a secret camera incorporated in a pair of sunglasses. The resulting videos show his own transgressions as much as anyone else's. I understand that he is discussing some of his latest videos of supposed law breaking with the officers on Friday. I would like to suggest that your officers take particular notice of Mr Mason's own actions in the videos which he provides. They will see that he has a total disregard for the Road Traffic Acts himself - in particular jumping red lights. He also has a total disregard for other road users. If Mr Mason does not pass over any videos which show himself at fault - I do have a full catalogue of all the videos stored on his machine which I can make available to your officers. Yours faithfully PS I understand that three of you officers have been investigating a complaint, made by Mr Mason, on a full time basis since last August. I wonder how they are getting on? ================================================== ==================== Letter on its way - as we say. |

Yes, let us know what they said about you overtaking the stopped blue car, shooting to the left in front of his bonnet and crossing the stop line. Looking at the video I can see why Simon was unhappy with the drivers of the van and the blue car. But I think Simon isn't living in the real world if he doesn't realise it's of his own making. I cycle about 200+ miles a month. Not much compared to other people but not a small amount either. Apart from bad driving I very rarely get any problems from other motorists and it's because I don't do stuff like cycle to the front of a queue and hold up two lanes of traffic. Personally I think there's an etiquette that cyclists and motorists need to follow. For cyclists it's largely about not making pointless manoeuvres that slow drivers down, "Share the road" works both ways. |
