It is based upon a false premise. No Mike it ain't. They aren't gathering personal information on you. They're trying to put together an email list of specific types of people that they can sell. Or use themselves to try and tailor their own coverage to get a bigger readership. You comment about not giving them personal information plainly shows that you believe that somehow your personal information will be misused. Well, in a way I suppose you're right - you'd probably get spammed but that's what keeps newspapers in business - advertising dollars. If you think that the effort of clicking "spam" on that sort of email is too hard perhaps you need more training. |
