Aye, that's what a lot of the Sydney couriers do, it's weird to see a bike that looks like a crap beater, but then has some fantastically nice components (e.g. hydraulic v-brakes) when you look a bit closer. -kt -- Kingsley Turner, (mailto: ) http://MadDogsBreakfast.com/ABFAQ - news:aus.bicycle Frequenly Asked Questions |

Stripping Paint off alloy frame
All good points lads .. thanks.
Wanted to strip it because I liked the effect of the bare aluminium that I once saw. I thought the tape would be a bit obvious and weighty. Know of any panel beaters that will do it cheaply? Marc |

Heck, while we're all making displays of spontaneous magnanimity I'll join in with an offer of my own. If Bongo wants to swap his bike for my old Repco I'd be happy to pay shipping on both and you can almost guarantee that no thief is going to want to nick it. Mind you, its got some decent Alex rims on it and brand new tires with slime tube liners. If I sold the wheels on eBay I could get a couple of hundred for them I think, but if I sold the whole bike with the wheels attached I'd probably get $100. I'll leave it as an exercise to the reader to estimate the market value of the frame and groupset... :-) Travis |
