I bought a batch of Flash Hutchinsons from Nashbar for $4.99 apiece
and they are working out much better.

I got a couple of sets for $4 each with the coupon code. What to say?
At the price you can't beat them, and the very thick sidewalls were a
godsend on the crap strewn streets I rode last fall.

I just moved my last front to back and mounted a virtually brand new
Nashbar Prima2 25c skinwall up front, as the rear was cut up too much
for my tastes. I have to say, the steering and feel of the bike was
much more lively--the thick sidewalls of the Hutchinson's downside was
a dead ride.

There are plenty of good brands around, I just get whatever's the right
size and level of durability for whatever particular season they'll be
used, and that's on sale. :P

Nashbar's still got those venerable Pasela 28mm's for $13 and everybody
seems to like 'em. From what I remember, they run narrow.

Hi all I've posted here before .Thanks for the Help. What I need is a new
set of Road tires.
I live in Northwest Ind.Roads are fair and I don't compete just like to
ride.Looking for a replace ment for a set of .Michelin carbons a few
years old.
Looking for best bang for the buck .
I don't put a {lot } of road miles on bike. Thanks . PS hoping for a
pair for under 45$
thanks.

I just bought a pair of Carbons for around that price, shipped. They've
been on sale all over the place because the model name has changed again.
If they last as long as everyone says you probably can't beat them for
value. I'm very happy with their ride and handling. It's actually better
than many supposed all out race tires.

There's all kinds of stuff on sale now. Check Performance, Nashbar, etc.

Well...close. It's not quite as nice. And it is a lot heavier. But
for most road riding, and for most non racing, I don't think that I
could tell the difference. Maybe you could, but I can't.

Remember that the O. P. was looking for a cheap solution.

What are you talking about?

It's time for me to put in my plug for the Panaracer T-Serv. Light,
grippy, nearly bulletproof, wears like iron, and has enough "tread" to
make a difference in sandy conditions without being a slug on the
road. They're very similar to the excellent Conti Gatorskins, but
without the sidewall problems or the high price.

I thought they were just Paselas, albeit the presidential model with
tiny earpieced men, and limosinesqe black sidewalls.
