U-Decide (unicycle decision)
Hey guys, at spring, I want to get a Road unicycle. I currently have $215, and am expecting to get more via the holidays(i'm asking for cash from all my relatives). I am getting a trip to RTL (weather or not Im competing) this summer. So my Question is what to get 29er, 36er, etc? Please do not say a geared ____, unless your willing to buy it for me! Expect a MAXIMUM of about 600. I really don't want to spend that much. -- Jeremy R '661' (http://www.sixsixone.com/) 'MountainUni' (http://www.mountainuni.com/splash.asp) spam ban kaboom - Gilby ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jeremy R's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/18006 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/74943 Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.usenet.com |

Hmm, I don't know if RTL is happening next year or not...but... If you want a road unicycle, and will have a max of 600, go with a 36er. They are much better for the road than a 29er. -- siafirede 'DCuni' (http://www.dcuni.com/blog) - my blog about Unicycling in Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland *James* = my name ------------------------------------------------------------------------ siafirede's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/6057 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/74943 Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.usenet.com |

Heres the cheap good setup im working on (and when I want to ride it I swap parts from my other unis.) Setup: Commuter 36-inch tube Nimbus Stealth Pro Rim [Nimbus ISIS 36-Hole Wide Hub Regular Spokes Regular Nipples Nightrider tire 08 frame Quax lightweight 125's (is that the right size?) Animal hamilton Pc Or Twisted pc and then I'm looking at about $500 - $530 (Swapping my seatpost and seat). I can get less if my LBS will do a free wheelbuild and I get free shipping from them! It should not be. Doesn't that also depend on your seat and shoes? Im sure I'll be fine! One on one;1153415 wrote: Is this going to be an issue for you. I usually ride with 2-2.5 inches exposed on my sp.(on my muni with 150's) If I chop the excess off, then I'll be fine. Plus, I have a spare post I could use if a grew a crapload. -- Jeremy R '661' (http://www.sixsixone.com/) 'MountainUni' (http://www.mountainuni.com/splash.asp) spam ban kaboom - Gilby ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jeremy R's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/18006 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/74943 Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.usenet.com |

Swapping seats is a pain in the saddle . The bolts never quite tighten back up after each time. A post is only 20 dollars. Either way, when I grow, i'd need a new post for my coker.
