UCI will challenge Ullrich license
UCI will challenge Ullrich license
(http://www.velonews.com/news/fea/10985.0.html ) I disappointed that UCI has decided to challenge Jan's Swiss license. Until actual physical evidence of doping is produced then Jan should not be suspeneded. But when his guilt has been determined Jan should recieve a lifetime ban until such time he can prove his innocence. Landis's case is different since there was a positive sample found. This trend of guilt by association and innuendo is tearing the sport apart. |

I think there is inconsistencies in the testing system, which has lead
to flaws. This opened the testing system to challenges which have caused unecessary controversy and drama. So the there needs to be a more uniform and regulated testing system. Perhaps video taping might help to document the system. However the "guilty till proven innocent" Is something to really stand against. It has ramifications throughout the entire judicial system. Not withstanding the stand against doping must go on, but it has been proven over and over again that the entire system of doping contol is riddled with corruption. Just my opinion. Ro |

Yes, it is really starting to look like a witch hunt at this point, they really want him out, there must something going on that we're not privy to...Ullrich kicked McQuaid in the balls, McQuaid fancies his wife, nothing would surprise me at this point... |

But when his guilt has been determined Jan should recieve a lifetime ban until such time he can prove his innocence. I would hope you meant to say "IF" his guilt is determined. If indeed Ullrich has doped, I trust it would not be any more than Armstrong, Basso, Vino or any other top rider in the pro peloton past or present. Rick in Tennessee |

The FICP Federation of of international cyclists union needs to also
establish uniform guidelines that teams must follow when a rider is accused of doping as well. This will ensure that riders are not dismissed summarily without evidence and cut down on the controversy and drama. wrote: I think there is inconsistencies in the testing system, which has lead to flaws. One thing to bear in mind is that apparently this newsgroup is colored
greatly through USA-tinged lenses. France has Napoleonic law, whereby one is guilty (upon presentation of reasonable proof to that effect) until proven innocent. Just another system. Maybe not the best, but there you have it.
