Olympic Pick Contest: final

This morning, Peter Tapscott, CRYSPAT99, Tom Berger, and Davey Crockett all produced strong
picks in the time trial. Peter's faith in fellow Webcor Christine Thorburn was strongly paid
off, he had the top score on the event. But Crockett's pick was strong enough to move him to
first in the overall standings, with Peter in second place. It was going to come down to the
men's race...

In the time trial, Davey delivered the good with the top overall picks, to take the "Olympics
Picks" title. Alon G, despite a mediocre 8th for the event, nevertheless passed Peter for
second, as Peter neglected to enter any current riders for the event. Tom McMinn also scored
strongly for the time trial.

Players showed a continuing lack of creativity, as Jan Ullrich attracted an astonishing
48% (max possible = 50%) of the pick weightings for the time trial. Tyler Hamilton
and Bobby Julich, both with very strong time trial results in 2004, combined for less
than 10%. And defending champion and silver medalist Ekimov was once again overlooked
by the crowd -- NOBODY had him in any of their top 3 picks.
