Is that really the association they want? 3) Will this really cause as huge a change in America's transportation systems as the Segway did? Just wondering. - Frank Krygowski |

Is being attractive an admission requirement at MIT? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYsxYZuErqg I really do need an app to tell me what the air conditions are, where other people are riding, etc., etc. I care about all of those things deeply. It also gives me the opportunity to stare at my iPhone as I ride along and chat with my friends OMG! If I had instrumentation this morning, I could have confirmed that it was f****** cold and that the road was covered in ice. I could have shared that with my friends, e.g., "LOL! FNA! IC tday, dohan fall on Ur Ass! ):" I could have had entirely meaningless and unnecessary communications with others -- much like this post! I wish the great heel of God would come down from heaven and smash all the smart phones. LOL. EOM. Happyfacehappyfacehappyface. -- Jay Beattie. |

It actually amazes me that some families are spending multiple hundreds of dollars per month on smart phones. While we have four Android phones, on Verizon's network, I guess I'm cheap because I have minimalist plans with very little data. Even spending $69/month seems like a lot to me but plenty of people I know are spending $200-250/month for three or four smart phones. Per Frank Krygowski:
3) Will this really cause as huge a change in America's transportation systems as the Segway did? I misjudged Segway big time. "Huge change" might be too strong, but I figured I'd be seeing at least a few every day everywhere. Anybody got a slant on why it flopped? News reports of crashes? Dubya's experience? -- Pete Cresswell |

On the positive side, the cameraman who does the shots of Chris Boardman riding the last few hundred metres of a TdF stage describing the finish for later does so on a Segway. So they have some use. |
