Which makes him different from you... how?
(hint: he's won seven Tdf's and a Worlds RR, and came within one
Pascal of the Ardennais Double)

If you'll look at #169 in that series ("Eyes on the Prize"), you'll
see someone who is able to differentiate between accomplishment and
"personality".

If you are happy with 3rd place ... you don't have the mentality of a
top champion (imho).

it would be easy to say, "I'm 38 yrs old, not bad for an old guy who
hasn't raced in 3 yrs. I'm happy for Alberto ... blah blah
blah ..."

that is nothing more than the cliche that everyone wants to hear. i
say, go ahead and be a prick. be dissatisfied with 3rd. be
dissatisfied losing to a guy who appears to be another "extra-
terrestrial".

You said it. What is a 'professional'? They get on the podium, give it
the courageous smile and the "Queen's Royal wave" and act like an
adult, no matter the placing. They don't bite their lip and not raise
their trophy.

It's gay. Plus, everyone is twittering Lance 'y no smile, homie'. uber-
gay.

Sure, do as he pleases 365 days a year,
except on the podium. Smile and _act_ as
if he is happy to be there. It will not
hurt; it will help him.
