Value of 1988 Schwinn KOM
I'm tempted to sell my 1988 Schwinn Project KOM, but don't know its value.
The rear brake caliper is mounted under the chain stays... unusual and for that year only. The frame size is 22 inch... the largest frame manufactured. I know it retailed for $1000 when new. In very good condition - hardly used. A few scratches, mostly from hanging in the garage. Any thoughts? Thanks. |

The KOM was a pretty good MTB in it's time. I tried to buy one that size but they simply weren't available. Instead I bought a Bridgestone MB-2 which probably was a better buy. The KOM isn't worth much except for sentimental value and the size of the frame makes it pretty difficult because only a small percentage of bikes sold are that large. I'd say that if you could get $250 for it you'd be doing well. But on Ebay who knows? |
