So what broke the bicyclist's teeth?

http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_13398263 That report from the juror, Greg Bittle, brings serious doubt into the conduct of the jurors. If the face was struck full on, there would be a broken nose or other facial injury, so he says the dentist said. Bittle states that the impact with the ground, by observation of the video, was not full on. The conclusion he draws is that the cyclist went through a red light and he should praise the police for not shooting him. He ignores witness remarks made at the time of the incident stating that they had broken his teeth and obviously prefers the fabricated hyperbole given by the defending lawer. I suspect the jury was nobbled. Bittles report was too self contradicting to suggest that the conduct of the jury was just. I would like to hear the result of any civil action and whether it will prompt further criminal action against the officer. |

Hopefully a civil trial for damages will find a jury with more intelligence. The fact that the officer filed a false report in the first place is tantamount to an admission of guilt on his part. The officer should still be fired for submitting a false report. Oh...wait... bicyclist. No. I'm wrong. The biker is at fault. Sorry for the confusion. he touched the jerks hat. |

Dear Carl should have posted this to .soc, not .tech. That being said, the US citizenry is too cowed to protect themselves from the bad apples among their supposed protectors. In a civilized country, there would be true citizen oversight of police, prosecutors, judges and prison guards. -- Tom Sherman - 42.435731,-83.985007 I am a vehicular cyclist. |
