In 1980, I touched wheels and God mistook me for a mosquito. I got
back on the bike and finished riding from Albany, New York to Warsaw,
Indiana.

Last November I hit some rotten leaves that were concealed under dry
leaves and had precisely the same fall -- I even landed on the same
side. I was crippled for a week, had to be careful getting in and out
of bed for two more, and was still feeling it on New Year's Day.

I've had a guy tell me the secret is to do a fall like that at least
once per week. Keeps you limber and strong of bone, he says.

I prefer to keep the rubber pointed downward. And yes, wet leaves
can be nasty!

nnnnnnnnnnn

was cold but cuddaben worse. Few bicycle. Sparse crowd. 24 hrs tomorrow.

very good race. 68 starters all prepared. GT. the formula is bring your GT and we'll apply rules to get you into the pack. So there were stock Caymen runnnng behind F2 Civics.

Interesting watching very fast Mustamgs keep up with street stock Porsche 911 and hot BMW sedans.

The BMW's won. Lead Porsche blew on the last lap.

Bicycle showed on the trip up around the lake's east side then up the coast on $$$ Beach until Malborne.

If a bike lane then there were bikes ceptin the very upscale condo beaches where there were no signs of life.

an interesting effect of racing motors and suspensions reliability, the GT formula, was class grouping during the last laps.

Enduro racing is the thing...after an hour or so the race 'takes on a life of its own'. Here, the Caymans separate on the grid now grouped up running in a group of 4-5. The dinasaurous, abt 10 strong....3-4 Astom Martins, Mustangs, formed a long NASCAR line.

The track prob doesn't have Bernie's approval. The first turn is a fast 160 degree roundabout after the top end straight. Enough room both in and thru allowing a very deep outbraking move with carrying top end to force your way around the car ahead..

The long running second place BMW gave that a shot 3 times. Real racing. The top end would zoom the BM past a Porsche, top end vs braking, then try to horse the car into turning as it BMed into the skid pad. You get to stand on top of that.
