Route of the Hiawatha Trail

We did the route of the Hiawatha Trail out of Wallace,ID on Sept 7th.
It was great. Perfect weather. We started in Montana and did the Taft
Tunnel (1.7 miles). We were able to take a little more time this year
and take in some of the trail imformation markers. We had done it last
year but had to hurry though it because of other commitments. It took
us about 2 1/2 hours to do 16 miles all down hill. Next year we'll
probably do the Route of the Coeur'd'lene but not all 72 miles (we're
middle-aged and out of shape) :) Jim
