If you haven't yet watched the Womens Road Race Champions' race, but have
an opportunity, watch at least the last ninety minutes. There isn't a
minute without incident. The benefits of having a good team showed, but it
was just gutsy riding the whole way.

I see the Women's World's time trial, but don't see the Road Race up
anywhere yet. (UCI Road World Championship Salzburg - Time Trial Elite
Women)

What a force of nature!! Junior world champ in Verona, reigning CX world
champion, now road champ as well at 19 1/3 years of age. Gutsy race,
strong in the escapes, perfectly timed sprint, enormous explosion! Only
one thing can stop her now from becoming even better than Van Moorsel;
Bruce, she needs you.

Oh, and she also holds the Dutch and European titles... Amazing.

I just read the coverage at cyclingnews.com and it sounds like a great
race. Nicole Cooke is a pretty rocking rider too.

Nicole suffered from not having support, but she was also tactically weak,
chasing every single move and letting all the teams around her know that
she was prepared to chase every move. The Swiss and Germans in particular
used the old 'one at a time attack' trick, and Nicole chased, and chased,
and chased, and chased. And, to give her credit, she brought every single
one of them back. Consequently in the finish she ran out of legs.

She's a great rider, but a poor poker player.

Morning had broken, and there was nothing we could do but wait
patiently for the RAC to arrive.

I predict a long career of doping insinuations.
