Will my bike be good enough?

I'm thinking about picking up mtn biking. I have a bike my dad bought
me a few years ago that I never really used... and I never really grew
out of it. It's a Trek Mtn Track 240, 24". I'm 20 yrs old, 5', 105 lbs.
Do you guys think it will work for me? I'd be on beginner to
intermediate trails (in a while). Or do I need to look for an adult

Just a tip: if you're going to ask the same question in 3 or 4 different

Best way to know is to find out. Why not take it out on some trails
and try to break the bike. If you can break it, then darnit, you need
a new bicycle ! If its too uncomfortable, then you need a new bike !!
That's the only way to know for sure ... just do it ... now !

No. A 24" frame is for someone at least 6'2", and that's assuming an
old-school horizontal top tube.

I expect the 24" refers to the wheel size, not frame size. I don't see
any reason that the bike shouldn't do for a start. As you ride and get
more experience, you may prefer to make some changes but as long as the
seat height and the reach to the handlebars reasonable it should be
fine.

Do try to restrict your mayhem to destroying inanimate objects and the
replaceable parts of the bike. Good news, they're all replaceable. The body
parts aren't, if you plan to do anything really interesting while going fast
wear a helmet.
