Just don't ride on the pavement! If you damage someone or something it is
essential and a legal requirement that it is reported appropriately, don't
worry, your house insurance will cover the damages.

"A CYCLIST who was in collision with a woman pedestrian on an Oswestry
town centre pavement, is being sought by police.

The cyclist, a white man who appeared to be in his 50s, did stop
following the collision and asked if the victim was okay but did not
leave his name or any contact details before cycling away".

A clear case for compulsory number plates.

I wonder if the compulsory use of licensing and registration plates would have
helped in this sort of case.

=====Possible converstion=====
Cyclist: Opps, I'm sorry, are you OK.
Scratched pedestrian: Yes, I'm fine thank-you
Cyclists: I'm really sorry, but glad you aren't badly hurt. Do you
mind if I go on my way?
Scratched pedestrian: OK - see ya.

A clear case for compulsory number plates.

Oh yes. It would undoubtedly prevent such incidents.

And in other news, the driver of a tipper lorry left a cyclist for
dead after running him over. The 44 year old male cyclist died four
days after being hit and severely injured by the driver. The unnamed
driver has been charged with causing death by careless driving.

Probably it would: since a registered bicycle would be less likely to be on
the pavement in the first place.

No doubt apprehended because of his number plate. Thank you for
supporting the case for cyclists registration.

Yep amazing - perhaps you can explain why the police are trying to find the
cyclist.
