That is ****-all. Get a grip, people. Even I get that sort of comment.
So what?

And we end up with dragging in people like Vanguard, who I am sure
knows his stuff, but really we are wasting his time!:-
"So just WHERE do you see that a different OS was involved? What I
see
is that *possibly* a different version of the same web browser was
used
(this assume the poster did not change the user-agent string reported
by
their web browser, something for which there are many utilities
available).
That one post used quoted-printable format and the other did not is
NOT
dependent on the web browser used. That is Google deciding what
format
to use. As yet, no one has well explained why Google Groups posts
sometimes use quoted-printable format and sometimes they don't.
That's
Google deciding on an encoding format, not the poster.
If the poster has multiple intranet hosts that go through a NAT router
than the same IP address (for their router) would be expected for the
different web browser versions on their different intranet hosts. The
poster might even be using the same host but have multiple versions of
the same web browser on it. SVS (software virtualization) products
let
you have multiple versions of the same product on the same host at the
same time. You simply choose which one to activate at a time. Of
course, then there is the use of virtual machines, too. Utilities let
you specify a different user-agent string. It's also possible the web
browser allows changing the user-agent string for compatibility
issues.
If the user defined identities then switching between them could
change
the user-agent string, too." (copyright Vanguard)

Even the brightest and the best of these experts has no definitive
answer, just "mights", "just possibles", and "coulds". A sledgehammer
to crack a nut.
All this hardwork over standard ****wittery. A mere fart in a
thunderstorm results in such a bunch of hypocritical, pretended
disgust, some from repeat nymshifters.
And to what advantage is all this flatulence? So much effort by the
bullies for what possible point or gain? Do they really honestly in
their hearts believe that they are on the side of good?

Anyhow, good night, sleep tight (those of you who can).

I might have posted that, except I killfiled the piece of **** ages ago
and I wouldn't have bothered nymshifting. As for the ScanSafe IP
address, anyone can get one of them by signing up for a free trial.

The disgust is genuine, and is only present because the perpetrator is
Chapman, who is particularly hated anyway, but who has also complained
extensively about nym-shifting, making him a grade A hypocrite. It's
not even the first time that he's nym-shifted.

In fact, pretty much everything that Crapman complains about, he does
to a worse extent than those who he complains about. He nym-shifts
while moaning about others doing it. He posts OT stuff while moaning
about others doing it. He advocates measures which he knows to be
killing people while complaining about motorists (that's all
motorists, except him) "endangering lives". He claims that those who
promote helmet use are "making cycling less attractive", while, you've
guessed it, promoting helmet use, to his children among other people.
And the list goes on and on.

Couple that with the fact that Chapman has refused, several times, to
answer the question as to whether he posted the two messages, and the
outrage at his actions is entirely justified. He's been caught out,
again, yet his pathetic followers on URC refuse to hear a word said
against him, again. Nothing ever changes in Motorist-Haters' HQ.

You are right:

Guy Chapman posted from an IP address five times as himself - and then
twice as Lou Knee - to post the crap above.

He then introduced all sorts of crap about "open proxies", user
agents, and OS - when all it was was a simple cock-up by himself.

Ask yourself why he did it? - What did he have to gain?

It is very obvious that the more sensible posters in urc have not
commented - perhaps they are too embarrassed to do so, as he has
certainly let some of them down.

Have you noticed he has not denied doing it?

Lou Knee: 2

Coincidence or nym shift?
