I kind of like taking the gloves off and having it out. As I once replied
to someone complaining about a certain poster with a reputation for being
crotchety, I can make him look like Huggy Bear.

You can ask Ed Dolan about having a sore foot.

I have been kicking Tom Sherman's dumb ass like forever, but it does no
good. He is a dyed in the wool liberal.

Hitler was a seminal figure of the 20th century and not to ever mention him
means that you must be from some other planet.

Hitler was Time Magazine's "Man of the Year" in 1939.

As a follow-up, Time chose Stalin as "Man of the Year" in 1940.

Godwin's Law/Rule only applies when someone *compares* another poster to
being like Hitler, not a mere mention of Hitler.

Both Time and Newsweek are but a shadow of their former selves and are today
unreadable.

Agreed, but Hitler was from the left. NAZI means "National Socialism".
Hitler and Stalin had a lot in common which is why Time Magazine liked them
both equally.

As usual, Ed Dolan is wrong again.

Time Magazine had them both as Man of the Year because they were both men of
the left!

However, recent experience leads me to agree with Ed that the best
conversation on Usenet is telling people off.

I only do that when I have determined that my opponent is being unreasonable
and uncivil. Moreover, it is best not to nitpick every word or sentence.
That in itself is a tip-off that I am dealing with an asshole. A single post
from Rod Speed in response to one of mine tells me all I will ever have to
know about him - and I respond accordingly by telling him to go ****
himself.

Finally, it is important never to waste time and effort on those who do not
deserve it. It is why I do not bother with TM. Folks who just want to talk
to themselves have no place on Usenet.

I have come to the conclusion that politeness on Usenet is wasted, and
being nasty is the better route.

Yes, some people are too dense to get it when they are told off.

I kind of like taking the gloves off and having it out.

=x= Gosh, no kidding? Thanks for telling us all about
what you like. Because it's all about you, after all.

=x= Unfortunately, you also like cross-posting your
off-topic all-about-you having-it-out sessions so as to
crowd out anyone who might be interested in things that
might actually be on-topic.

Wonder if Mr. Dyer would care if people were posting libel about him?

Mr. Tom Sherman is pretty good about labeling posts that are off-topic OT.
Those who are only interested in on-topic posts can thus easily avoid all of
the nonsense that some of us delight in.

Bull****. In most states, a bicycle is legally defined as a vehicle.

Will you provide evidence for that? Otherwise, I do not believe you.
