While it says 15 miles that greatly depends on how much assist you use.

Next week I'll go on my first offroad ride with an electric bike.
Homemade by a riding buddy but that one is a serious downhill MTB with a
750W motor and around 700Wh battery capacity. They want to pull me over
to the dark side but I don't think I'll do that just yet.

Why not Joerg, just think how old you're getting. The dark side is calling.

Yeah, I keep thelling them "When I am 85".

Awesome, but with an ebike, you can kick-ass on the grandkids. Joerg will be miserable if he is the only guy/gal NOT on an ebike, even if he is far more fit than his companions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJET...alizedBicycles

Lol, probably aimed at the employees so they can move around their
warehouse and do their jobs faster Faster FASTER!.

In the USA they won't have mothers being forcibly arrested in front of
their children for not wearing masks.

In my book they should have shot her for endangering other people's
health. NB, she was arrested for publicly and continually advising people
to break the law.
One of the legal groups here is
now bringing law suits against state governments before the Supreme
Court. That ought to be worthy of a laugh since there not only is no
precedent for locking down the country, there are actually cases against
it from the time of Smallpox. How much money do you suppose that
California and New York could afford to lose?

Err, no idea, I don't pay rates or taxes in either of them.
Hint, not a lot of people are verse in pandemic law.

You aren't versed in anything if you think that any state under any conditions has the right to nullify the Constitution. And if you were here and said that they should have shot that woman you wouldn't get a second word out of your mouth. Believe me you would spend the rest of your life in a hospital.

I'm riding with a guy that is 88 and he complains that everyone is riding too fast so we let him lead and he rides 3 mph faster than we were.

I was returning from Sausalito to San Francisco to take the Ferry back to Alameda and me and an overweight partner were on the climb up to the Golden Gate bridge. I didn't know that there were electric bikes and while I was behind him going around that one steep turn out of town, two girls went by us sitting upright and smoking the climb. My friend sniveled, I hope those are electric bikes and they said "Of course" and disappeared up the climb. Now I could have ridden with them since they weren't that fast and right after that turn the grade drops down to 5% or so but my friend wasn't in any shape to do that. And we were just returning from Paradise loop via Tiburon. My memory is so screwed up that I couldn't even remember that the main street in Tiburon was on the south side of the main drag. I thought it was on the north. And I had ridden through it several times.

But if you are going to adapt a "motor" to a bicycle why not adapt a
proper gasoline fueled motor and get some real go power. Cheap too,
only $120.

Gasoline is a lot easier to find than an electric recharging station and refilling a gas tank is a lot faster.
