Yeah I wonder too. He comes across as a pretty neat guy who's genuinely
passionate about cycle racing and cycling history and is very happy that
cycling is becoming big in the English speaking world. (It brings in the
bucks of course, several English cities are rumoured to be offering
serious money to host TdF stages in the coming years).


And provides much more professional tv coverage than most. Compare the festival
of phonyiness aka olympic road race to the tdf.


Yeah that was a disgrace, still at least there was the consolation of knowing
the race was won by someone with a spotlessly clean record who is completely
above suspicion and races for a team with the *highest* doping standards.

Depends on your POV. Some might say mixing blood bags is indicative of
rather low doping standards.
