Default Toyota not on recall list surges.

It just get worse and worse and they are still allowed to drive them
on our roads.

"Toyota's safety crisis deepened further last night when police
officers in California were called to stop a runaway Prius that was
accelerating out of control on a busy highway..."

"...Sikes told reporters that he had taken his car to a local Toyota
dealership about two weeks ago for a service, and was told his car was
not on the recall list.

"I'll be back there tomorrow," he said.

This incident has prompted comparisons with the fatal crash in
California last August in which four people, including an off-duty
Highway Patrol Officer, died after the accelerator of their Toyota
Lexus ES350 became stuck. The car hit another vehicle before leaving
the freeway and catching fire. Last week the family of the victims
filed a lawsuit, accusing Toyota of liability and negligence."

You still won't answer the question ******. How many fatal injuries have
they caused?

I was wondering that myself. It takes a special kind of stupid to not be
able to stop a car with a jammed accelerator.

"A patrol car pulled alongside the Prius and officers told Sikes over a
loudspeaker to use the brakes and emergency brake.

After the car slowed to about 50 mph, Sikes felt safe enough to turn off
the engine and coast to a halt."

So - let's be sure we've all got this straight - THE POLICE HAD TO TELL
HIM TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. And, when he did, the car slowed down.

Wow!! Who'd a thought it, the cars going too fast so apply the brake and it
slows?

Isn't technology wonderful?

The problem is that many cars are dangerous. Generally this is due to
the failure to install any safety devices between the driver's ears.
