Default Installing chain catcher on triple

I'm installing a Third Eye chain catcher on a triple setup. I'd like
to know if the device should be turned forward or backward to meet the
granny gear. The normal position that it's usually shown in photos is
not possible due to the closeness of the small ring so it has to be
turned either forward (which seems like it will be too forward to
prevent chain drop), or rear-ward (which looks really weird). I think
anyone who's installed one on a triple will understand what I'm
asking.

Josh
