Default "The Race: A Novel of Grit, Tactics & the Tour de France"

Recently red "The Race", by David Shields (a Salt Lake City local), which
tells the story of Ben Barnes, a domestique riding on a French team during
the Tour de France.

The story mostly takes place over the course of one mountainous stage of the
Tour, with flashbacks explaining how he got there ... from his early days on
an abandoned green Schwinn, from his low-points in life to the pinnacle ...

But you'll just have to read it yourself.
