People will be trying to get home from a days work and the town will be gridlocked due to bloody freeloading cyclists. Many of whom would not have a job without tourists. These are cyclists, not tourists. Tourists stay overnight and spend money. The cyclists cannot afford to stay overnight and tomorrow will be signing on day. The roads in Blackpool are in a chaotic state and the last thing needed is for the Promenade to be closed due to a load of bloody cyclists. There is no hope of any of the ******* being prosecuted due to lack of lights - a motorist would be a different matter. If the law is not enforced to the letter it is not the fault of those not obeying the law to the letter - assuming your allegation is anywhere close to reality. Cyclists are freeloading scum, always have been and always will be. Have you ever been a net contributor? For the past 20 years. You have been a cyclist for 20 years and you still hate cyclists? |

We should have congestion charging, based on the amount of congestion and inconvenience to others that a road user causes. Make the free loading scum pay. That reminds me - I need to pay the London congestion charge when I drive there in December. I live in London, I don't think I have ever paid the congestion charge. Driving a car in the congestion zone, during charging hours, is a waste of time, it is... congested. I either go around, get a train or cycle. So why do you want to drive in it? Air conditioned comfort? If I need to go into London (very rare) I would far rather drive in luxurious comfort, rather than be herded into sweaty trains, forced to walk or use a bus, and as for using a bicycle? ha ha. If I needed to get into London in a hurry then I might use a motorcycle if time was critical. It was quite feasible to use a car quickly in London (most of the time) and then they introduced bicycle obstruction lanes and the whole thing ground to almost a halt. |

You appear to have lived in a different city to me. I have never understood people who prefer to spend hours sitting in a traffic jam when the could travel much faster and more surely. I suppose if you have tinted glass you could have a wank, while you wait in your car, best not to do that on the train or bus. Bicycles are probably marginally faster than motorcycles in central London, and are easier to park. |

If you already are in a city then your likely transport usage is entirely different to someone living outside the city will be. Certainly for me a bicycle into London would be a stupid waste of time and energy, while a motorcycle is quite practical. Happily I have not had to commute into London for many years, if I had to now then I would probably drive. When I did commute I used a motorcycle in reasonable weather and a car or van otherwise. |

Blackpool Transport immediately suspended all operations on the tramway. Passengers were reportedly held on nearby trams for two and a half hours before Blackpool Transport made the decision to cancel all evening services. I hope the lad is going to be okay. My thoughts are with the tram driver and the passengers on the tram who were stuck there for two and a half hours due to a bloody cyclist. |

I know the area. If a cyclist falls off his silly bicycle whilst riding on the road, the pillock will either fall onto the road or perhaps the footpath. If the tosser is on the footpath and falls off his silly bicycle, there is a good chance that the tosser will fall under a tram. The brainless untrained brat was most likely on the footpath - as usual. |

Maybe if the victim's parents had followed the advice to wear helmets this would not have happened. |
