When do you remove your rain jacket in Seattle? I have friends in
Bellingham whom I've never seen without their Goretex. I think they sleep
in it.

No problem getting a jacket off while stoking on a tandem. On a single,
nope, I have to stop.

I've removed wind breakers with full zippers while riding either no
hands or one hand as the situation allowed.
Wind breakers with only neck zippers pose a problem if your hat is
much larger than your head.

My rain jacket has pit zips to the waist. There's usually no need to
remove it until I'm stopped. Urban riding provides lots of
opportunities to stop.

Stashing the removed garment on the fly is best planned before
removing it. (yes)

Reflective vests are for road side workers, thanks.

I don't know that I'm "very skilled." I just do it. It's no big
deal. Removing a rain cape while riding is harder, but I've done
that, too.

F. Reflective commuter vests are for Freds and Dorks

I'm sure I'm considered a Fred by some riders. But reflective
commuter vests are not for me. I've never felt the need for one.

With the qualifier that it is bike dependent. On my Crosscheck, no
problem. On my fixed gear, no problem. On my Xtracycle, impossible.

Eh, I just don't generally wear one. Or alternately, my rainjacket has
enough reflective stuff that I don't need the reflectors.

A Dublin lawyer died in poverty and many barristers of the city subscribed to a
fund for his funeral. The Lord Chief Justice of Orbury was asked to donate a
shilling. "Only a shilling?" exclaimed the man. "Only a shilling to bury an
attorney? Here's a guinea; go and bury twenty of them."

I can get it about halfway off, then have to reach for the bars. Very
awkward.

Can you remove a rain jacket and still keep on your reflective
commuting vest?

This is something like women who can remove their bras without removing
their sweater. I don't think men could do this.

F. Reflective commuter vests are for Freds and Dorks

There you go. But your rain jacket is day-glow yellow, anyway, isn't it?

Why in the hell would I want to do either of these things?
