"No way could you get a wheelchair up there and people with bags had to walk
around it.
They just turned the disabled ramp into a cycle park without any thought. It's
just plain selfish"

Isn't it odd how as a group, cyclists seem to be particularly selfish with no
thoughts for other members of society. Perhaps they just don't see themselves
as being part of society.

I wonder what Doug would have to say?

He's always bitching about motorists garaging cars on the street for free.

Don't wake him up too fast. He might get palpitations.

I thought you were a cyclist Judith. I don't think it's fair to tar all
cyclists with the same brush. Most of us are ok. It's only the militant
ones out on a mission who are complete ****s.

....and blocking dropped kerbs which are used by the disabled.

Obviously the cyclists used what was available at the time because of a lack
of adequate provision for cycle parking at that railway station. They
probably didn't realise it was a special ramp for the disabled.

The simple solution would have been to build adequate cycle parking before
putting the ramp in.

Satisfied?

Doug.

if you can't recognise that it is a special ramp then you should not be
riding a bicycle or using the roads, even a pedestrian would have difficulty
approaching the station on the ramp as it is now pictured (the original
picture showed a cleared ramp, the present one shows it blocked by bikes)

Just cut the bikes off, store them in a convenient place (e.g. York),
when the cyclist complains tell him where the bike is & that there is a
£20 charge, & he has to collect it himself.
