Why is the reliable Mr. Liggett claiming on OLN just now that the mighty
Thor was laid low by a PMU hand?

The worst part was that he was talking over a replay which showed
Hushovd reacting to some fairly firm blow, while the PMU hand in front
of him moves _not at all_.

Didn't you get the overnight press releases, Phil?

In the slo-mo replay, it looks like the hand.

I dunno. The ones I saw didn't show the nearby PMU hands moving at all,
and contact with 200 pounds of rider and bike at 70 km/h should move it
a lot.

Hushovd himself says it was probably a camera.

This shot almost looks like the exact point of impact: green object
embedded firmly in bicep, blood streaking on arm just starting to hit
the thigh, and appears to be turning away from boards.

He already has blood on his leg. I'd say he was cut before
this pic was taken.

Dumbass -

In the blow up slow mo replay you can see his arm hit a blurry silver
object and the blurry silver object goes flying. His arm hits the hand
after that.

thanks,

No way. He'd already been struck. What you think is a metal object is
far too obscure to identify. It looks like blurred backround colors to
me.

How on earth does a piece of foam slash one's arm like that? The only
foam THAT dangerous is on the space shuttle.

You're probably correct.

What really stands out to me, though, is the number of people in the crowd
using digital cameras held out in the path of the oncoming riders. They're
staring at the LCD screens, which are probably just a bit less than usable
in the bright sunlight, hoping for what -- a blurry snapshot? And why, to
prove they were there? They have no idea how close the object in their LCD
screen actually is and they have absolutely no situational awareness.

Bunch of goddamned idiotsl

Could be... I'm not CSI certified in the affects of 40mph arm gashes
during full on 200% physical effort.

What you think is a metal object is
far too obscure to identify. It looks like blurred backround colors to

Not the background as it's reflecting a highlight. The arm is showing a
shadow directly relation to the object. The hand is very much in a
holding position relative to the object.

Speaking of reading press releases... PMU hand = not foam
The tour banned the hands from the final 200k because they are cardboard
and plastic, are dangerous and have been complained about by sprinters
for several years.

Any better Videos or pics online yet?

Was Zapruder there and the UCI has already buried the tape because it
revealed a blood pump?
