"The MP reacted angrily after being told he was not allowed to cycle out
of Downing Street.

He apparently branded the officers "plebs" for not letting him use the
main gates and said they should "learn your f****** place".

Typical cyclist. Breaks the law then abuses the police.

Dave - Cyclists VOR. "Many people barely recognise the bicycle as a
legitimate mode of transport; it is either a toy for children or a
vehicle fit only for the poor and/or strange," Dave Horton, of Lancaster
University, wrote in an interim assessment of the Understanding Walking
and Cycling study. "For them, cycling is a bit embarrassing, they fail
to see its purpose, and have no interest in integrating it into their
lives, certainly on a regular basis."

It seems to be something obnoxious about certain cyclists. I wonder if they
are objectionable people who take up cycling - or ordinary people who take up
cycling and then become obnoxious?

Obnoxiousness is a characteristic of being a Tory, not of being a
cyclist. He'll still be a **** when he gets in his car.

But I bet he won't call a policeman a ****ing pleb when he is in his car.
As a cyclist he thought the rules did not apply to him; well, they don't
usually.

You have that 100% the wrong way round.

Cycling and hurling obscenities at strangers go perfectly together, as
hundreds of people in C London find out (or are reminded) every working day
they try to cross the road.

Obviously, if he'd been in his car, the situation would never have
arisen, as the plebs (oops, I mean officers of the law) would have
opened the gate for him - as they are supposed to for ALL vehicles
with a right of entry. Strangely, they seem to have mistaken the
vehicle he was actually using for something else.

Why, what else would you expect them to do - open the side gate and get the
driver to push the car through the smaller side entrance?
It would appear the officers correctly identified his mode of transport as a
child's toy.
