according to cyclingnews.com something called WCTV is going to carry UCI

I think In the US cycling is very much a fringe/minority sport but as a
recreational pastime it still has a large number of participants. Most
of whom are totally ignorant to the whole world of cycle sport. The
more people who watch cycleracing on whichever channel the more we will
get as market forces will dictate what sport the broadcasters push out
'cause the viewing figures will bring in advertisers ultimatly. So tell
your clubmates to find and watch cycling wherever it is.

Don't know who WCTV are but don't forget that http://cycling.tv have
had several Pro Tour races this year and I think, plan to have many
more next year. I just found Zuri Metzgate on there yesterday, I posted
else where on the newsgroup to that effect.

Lance isn't racing anymore. So what "True Blue American" is going to
bother watching cycling shows anymore?

Besides us, that is

OLN is what got me back into road cycling and re-sparked my interest in
professional cycling. Over 20 years ago I lived in Europe as a teenager. I
did lots of bike riding and maintained a passing interest in the
professional side of the sport. Once I returned to the states to go to
college I lost interest and never gave it another thought until 4-5 years
ago when I came across OLN's broadcast of the Giro. I was hooked again.
I've been a mountain biker for 15 years, but just bought my first road bike
in decades. I can sincerely say it was OLN, not Lance, that re-lit the road
riding fire in me.

That said, the grand tours will never rival the NFL or MLB. I suspect that
cycling is destined to remain a fringe sport in the USA for the conceivable
future. The more cycling on TV the better IMO, but I know I'll always be a
minority of the TV watching public in that regard.

I'd rather watch the Tour without lance. Maybe someone who actually
races will win. Lance just finishes and relies on the antiqated system
of overall time rather than stage wins. Next year we may see a real
champion win. I bet lance will be back once he gets done with that old
bag sherry crowe.

No jealousy. I have two big b@lls , no doping and a gorgrous lady.
Lance is not good when compared to Lemond, or Merckx who actually
raced!!!!

If Lance was so great he would have tried to dominate his final tour
and win numerous stages just to show everyone something. All he did was
finish in the pack so he lost no time. Many of the no-names arent
hailed as being great so they get my respect for finishing.
