Default UK puts National Park Rangers on Mountain Bikes--U.S. Needs to Dothe Same!

Remember, the reason that horses are so destructive is not just the

weight of the horse and the trail damage, it's also the waste products.

Horses don't damage nature; they are PART of nature. DUH! Bikes, of course, are not.

If a horse is being used by a person for transport or recreation purposes then that animal is an accompaniment to the person ... in exactly the same way as a bicycle. Wild horses roaming is a completely different matter.

Dogs are an exotic species. Horses are native to North America. In fact, the horse evolved there.

"The gray wolf or grey wolf (Canis lupus) is a species of canid native to the wilderness and remote areas of North America, Eurasia, and North Africa."

So, evolutionarily, they are as valid as horses ... both have been domesticated and used by man. If PEOPLE bring animals to the trail then they are, axiomatically, NOT there naturally irrespective of where they originated.

Every study that compares trail damage of different users has shown that
hikers and mountain bikers cause about the same amount of trail damage,

BS. You are referring to junk science written by mountain bikers. No surprise there!

Well, funnily enough, this so called junk science gets published in peer-reviewed journals ... whereas your ill-considered and factually unsupported diatribes don't. I wonder why :-)

University of Vermont concluded "horses produced significantly larger
quantities of sediment compared to hikers, off-road bicycles, and
motorcycles." Of course this was a detailed, scientifically conducted,
peer-reviewed study!

BS. Junk science. Not worth the paper it was written on.

But worth a lot more than one of your rants.

You need to be educated on how to tell the truth (I know, you are uneducable).

Hypocrisy ... start telling the truth yourself before accusing others of lying.

"The most damaging activity allowed in ANY park." "by far...."

Really Mike?

Please explain how mountain biking is "by far" more damaging than things like hunting and driving a Jeep.

Show us the numbers.

Mountain bikes are allowed in "parks":

http://www.nps.gov/biso/planyourvisi...bikeriding.htm

Hunting is allowed in "parks":

http://www.nps.gov/chic/planyourvisit/hunting.htm

Driving off road is also allowed in parks, as I clearly indicated
above.

In short, "they" ARE allowed in parks.

So, liar, please explain how mountain biking is "by far" more damaging
than things like hunting and driving a Jeep.

Demonstrating your lack of comprehension yet again.
You mean "By Regulation", not "By Definition".

If you'd bothered to attend the remedial Literacy classes in prison, you
might have benefitted.

I love it how Vandeman refers to unpublished articles on his website which have been written by him as evidence. To say its junk science is perhaps disrespectful to junk. Maybe It should be called **** science?

That's "Chickasaw National Recreation Area" -- not a park. Learn how to read.

Driving off road is also allowed in parks, as I clearly indicated above.

"Mojave National Preserve" is not a park. Learn how to read. And tell the truth.

In short, "they" ARE allowed in parks. So, liar, please explain how mountain biking is "by far" more damaging than things like hunting and driving a Jeep.

Your semantic games are tedious, Michael.

But, since that seems to be all you can handle, here you go:

http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/hunt/

A few dozen *Parks* where hunting is allowed. And that's just one state. It wouldn't be hard to find more... except for an idiot like you, I suppose.

Now... How is riding a bicycle "by far" more damaging than that?

Those people are idiots. Like you. By definition, a park is to preserve nature, not kill it, like hunters & mountain bikers do.
